Import your website

scoco reads your website and suggests a description, opening hours, services and frequent questions — only what you select in the review is applied.

Your assistant does not need to hear again from you what is already on your website. scoco reads the website and makes suggestions. Nothing goes live before you have reviewed it. This page shows how to read in your website, review the suggestions and take in changes later.

Read in your website

  1. Open AssistantsKnowledge. The Your website card is at the top.
  2. Check Your website address. If you entered a website under SettingsCompany, it is already filled in.
  3. Click Read in website.

scoco starts at the home page and reads up to 25 pages. It respects your website's robots.txt. It never takes your privacy policy, and never adds your legal notice to the knowledge base: scoco only reads it for facts such as your company name and address. You do not have to wait: reading carries on in the background, even if you close the page.

What scoco suggests

SuggestionWhere it goes once applied
A description of your businessAbout the company
Opening hoursBusiness hours on the Behaviour tab
Services, frequent questions, more informationKnowledge base, source Website (reviewed)
Website pages to look things up inKnowledge base, source Website page
Special termsTechnical terms & names
Phone numberonly if you choose, as a transfer target, and only a landline or mobile number in Germany or the EU (Put callers through)

If Use the knowledge base is still off and the suggestions include services, questions or pages, scoco also suggests switching it on. Without it, your assistant does not look up services and questions during a call.

Review the suggestions

When reading is done, the card shows how many suggestions are new, changed and removed. The number also appears on the Knowledge tab.

  1. Click Review suggestions.
  2. Each entry carries a label: New, Changed or Removed. For Changed you see Before and the new version one above the other.
  3. Decide for each entry: Apply or Reject, Apply new or Keep current, Remove or Keep.
  4. Adjust lets you edit an entry you are applying before it goes in. View page shows what scoco found on a page.
  5. Click Apply at the bottom.

scoco applies everything at once or nothing at all. Reject all sets every entry to reject.

The preselection respects what you wrote yourself. If you edited an entry, it shows Edited by you and is set to Keep current. Removals are set to Keep. Unless the weekly check has already missed an entry twice in a row, it says that the entry was not found when your website was last read. That can be a passing fault on your website. Anything you reject is only suggested again once its text on your website changes.

Read it in again later

After the first review, the Your website card shows what has been applied and when the website was last read.

  • Read in again reads the website again straight away.
  • Change address reads in a different address.
  • Check weekly for changes is on as soon as a website is linked. scoco then reads your website once a week.

Any changes it finds always arrive as suggestions in the same review, never directly on the phone. Open suggestions also appear on the Overview under Needs your attention.

Common problems

Reading did not work. The card gives the reason. Your current content stays active; scoco has changed nothing.

The website does not allow automated reading. Its robots.txt forbids it. Enter your knowledge yourself, see Manage what your assistant knows.

No removals are suggested. If part of the website could not be analysed, scoco suggests no removals that time. That way nothing disappears just because of a reading error.

The suggestions are out of date. If the assistant changed after the page was loaded, scoco applies nothing. Click Compare again.

Reading does not start. Only one import runs at a time per account, and at most ten are possible within 24 hours. Wait until the running one has finished, or try again later.
