scoco.ai

11:15, mid-neutering. Both hands on the animal, and out front the phone rings for the fifth time.

The AI secretary for your veterinary practice

scoco.ai takes calls under your own rules: appointments into a genuinely free slot in your Google or Outlook calendar, everything else recorded in full, and anything urgent put straight through by your escalation rule. No diagnosis, no dosage, no judgement.

Voicemail doesn’t take animals.

Whoever is in theatre cannot pick up — and whoever picks up during surgery hours interrupts a treatment. The owner who gets the engaged tone rings the next practice, and with a sick animal they do not wait until tomorrow. At the same time most of the calls are routine that needs no veterinary judgement at all: a vaccination appointment, a rescheduling, a question about opening hours.

Example scenario

How much treatment time is the phone costing you?

Treatment time interrupted31.5hours a month, based on 21 surgery days

Five calls you know

Three of them scoco handles in full. Two end expressly with a human — and which those are is something you decide, not the AI.

  • Appointment and vaccination

“My cat needs her annual jab.” scoco takes the species, the animal’s name, the request and the preferred window, and books into a genuinely free slot in your Google or Outlook calendar.

Result for the team: the appointment is made without anybody leaving the treatment room.

  • Cancellation and rescheduling

“We can’t make ten tomorrow.” scoco takes the cancellation with the appointment, the animal and the owner, and asks straight away about a replacement slot.

Result for the team: the slot is reported while it can still be filled — not when nobody turns up.

  • Medication and food

“I need a repeat of the worming treatment.” scoco takes the animal, the product as the owner names it, the quantity and the callback number, and reads the number back digit by digit. No statement about dosage, suitability or dispensing.

Result for the team: a complete line to work through instead of a callback note with half a product name on it.

  • Urgent call

If somebody says one of the phrasings you have set as urgent, scoco follows your rule: put through immediately or notify immediately, with a spoken note of what it is about. It does not judge whether it is an emergency.

Result for the team: the call rings through, and you know what the owner described before you pick up.

  • Standard question

“What are your surgery hours? Who is on call at the weekend?” scoco answers only from your knowledge base. What you have not put in it, it does not invent — it takes it down as a callback request.

Result for the team: reception does not answer the same question for the twentieth time.

What reaches reception

Text message to reception, 11:17:

scoco - URGENT - Vet practice Dr. Muster
Owner: Ms Andrea K.
Callback: 0176 4445566
Animal per owner: dog, crossbreed, 7 years,
"Balu"
Description: vomiting since this morning,
not eating, seems listless
Existing client: yes (per caller)
Rule: urgency word recognised, put through
Received: 11:17
Full text in the inbox

What the owner said is shown as the owner’s own account — not as a finding by the AI. scoco does not assess the description, it passes it on.

Three ways to leave surgery hours in peace.

  • Outside surgery hours only

The lowest-risk way in. In the evening, at night and at weekends scoco answers; during the day nothing changes for your team. You read the transcripts as they come in and adjust the rules.

  • Only when the line is busy

Reception stays the first port of call. Anyone who would have got the engaged tone reaches scoco instead, and is recorded in full.

  • For defined call types

scoco answers first, handles appointments and standard questions itself, and passes on everything your rules say belongs with a human.

Your practice software

Live and verified: Google and Microsoft calendars, Google and Microsoft contacts, the scoco team inbox, and handover by text message and email. We have no connection to a veterinary practice management system, and we do not claim one either.

  • easyVETon request
  • VetLine, Veteraon request
  • animeldo, Provet Cloudon request

Your practice management system is not directly connected. What already works today: the appointment lands in your Google or Outlook calendar, the full summary reaches reception by text message and email, and everything is in the team inbox as well for looking up. Transferring it into the specialist system takes your team seconds — with complete data instead of a voicemail.

What scoco.ai expressly does not do for you

No veterinary judgement. scoco recognises the urgency words your practice has defined and follows the rule you have set. The assessment stays with you.

  • No diagnosis, no assessment of symptoms, no treatment recommendation.
  • No statement about dosage, tolerance or the suitability of a product.
  • No judgement about whether a call is an emergency. Only your word list and your escalation rule apply.
  • No information about the cost of a specific treatment or about the fee schedule.
  • No booking into slots the calendar does not show as free.
  • No information about an ongoing case to a caller. scoco cannot check who is calling.

An extra person on reception answering the phone during surgery hours is a person not assisting in the treatment room. And at eight in the evening, when the worried owner rings, there is nobody there anyway. scoco.ai costs from €49 per month and takes several calls at once.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

With a sick animal, an AI must not get the judgement wrong.

It makes no judgement. You set which phrasings are put straight through at your practice, and scoco follows exactly that rule. What the owner describes is recorded in their own words and marked as their account. The assessment stays where it belongs.

Animal owners want to speak to a person.

At half past eight in the evening the alternative is not a person, it is voicemail — and hardly anyone leaves a message about a sick animal. scoco lets them finish, asks structured follow-up questions, and puts the call straight through on an urgency word. Everything else is in the inbox in full in the morning.

Doesn’t this just create more callback work?

Two paths, no third. Either the appointment is in the calendar — then there is nothing left to do. Or you get a complete handover with owner, animal, request, time and a callback number that was read back digit by digit.

We work with easyVET. Does scoco book into it?

No, and we do not claim it does. The appointment goes into your Google or Outlook calendar, and the complete handover reaches reception by text message and email. If you absolutely need a booking in the practice management system, we would rather tell you now than after the trial.

Does scoco say anything about medication?

No. It takes the product, the quantity and the animal exactly as the owner names them, and hands them over. About dosage, tolerance or suitability it says nothing — not “normally”, and not when asked.

What happens to the call data?

There are no call recordings. Only a transcript and a summary, with defined retention periods and deletion on request. The servers are in Falkenstein in Germany and processing takes place in the EU. You get a data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR from us.

How do we test this without unsettling our clients?

Start outside surgery hours. For two weeks scoco answers only in the evening and at weekends; during the day nothing changes for your team. You read the transcripts as they come in and adjust the rules. Only then do you decide whether to widen it. Four weeks are free, with no payment details.

Try it. Right now.
