12:30, lunch service. Every table taken, the kitchen is flat out, and the phone just keeps ringing.
The AI secretary for your restaurant
scoco.ai takes bookings while service is running: covers, time, name and callback number in full. Questions about opening hours, getting there and parking it answers from your knowledge base, and group or party enquiries come to you as a callback.
Your phone rings loudest when you have the least time.
Most calls come at 12 and at 7. That is exactly when the whole team is in service. Whoever cannot get through books next door — a restaurant is interchangeable as long as the guest has never been. And half those calls are questions already answered on your website: opening hours, parking, dogs welcome, kitchen open until when. Meanwhile the Christmas party for twenty rings in October. Once.
What is the phone ringing out costing you?

Five calls you know
Three of them scoco takes off your hands completely. Two end expressly with you — the most valuable enquiry, and the one nobody but your service staff may answer.
Table booking
“Have you got anything for four tonight?” scoco takes the number of covers, the date, the time, the name and the callback number, and reads the number back digit by digit. If you want, it books straight into a free slot in your calendar, within the allocations you have set.
Result for the team: a complete booking instead of a scrap of paper with half a name on it.
Group and party enquiry
“We’re looking for somewhere for our Christmas party, thirty people.” scoco takes the occasion, the number of people, the preferred date, the time window and the callback number, and asks about anything particular such as a separate room or a set menu. No commitment, no price.
Result for you: a qualified enquiry you ring back in your own time — instead of an enquiry that ends up somewhere else.
Standard question
“How late is the kitchen open? Can I park? Are dogs allowed?” Half of all calls. scoco answers them from your knowledge base, word for word as you wrote them.
Result for the team: service does not answer the same question for the twentieth time.
Cancellation and change
“I’m afraid we can’t make it tonight after all.” scoco takes the name, the booking and the time, and reports the cancellation immediately.
Result for the team: the table is free again while it can still be given away. A no-show that is cancelled first is not a no-show.
Pre-order and collection
“Can we order something to take away?” scoco takes the order in the caller’s own words, the collection time, the name and the callback number. No price information, no promise about availability.
Result for the kitchen: a legible order with a collection time.
What reaches the restaurant
Text message to the restaurant, 12:32:
scoco - Booking - Gasthaus Muster Guest: Ms Petra M. Callback: 0176 3334455 Covers: 4 When: today, 19:30 Note from guest: one person with a nut allergy, asks to speak to the service team on arrival Other: would like to sit inside Received: 12:32 Full text in the inbox
The allergy note is in the booking because scoco passes it on rather than answering it. Your service team raises it with the guest.
Your guests ring in their own language.
scoco starts in German and switches mid-call if the caller speaks English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch or Russian. Eight languages, at no extra cost, in every plan. Your summary always stays in German — the note that reaches you is readable whatever language the booking was made in.
Three ways to leave service in peace.
At the peaks
From 11:30 to 2 and from 6 to 9. Exactly the hours when nobody can pick up and most of the calls come.
On closing days and outside opening hours
Bookings for tomorrow come in at ten tonight. On your closing day the phone rings anyway.
Always
scoco answers first, handles the standard questions and passes on everything you have to decide.
Your booking system
Live and verified: Google and Microsoft calendars, Google and Microsoft contacts, the scoco team inbox, and handover by text message and email. Everything else is on request.
- OpenTableon request
- Quandoo, TheForkon request
- Resmio, Gastronovion request
- orderbird, Lightspeed, Vectron (tills, not booking)on request
Your booking system is not directly connected — with no provider in this market. scoco books into your Google or Outlook calendar, within the allocations you have set there. It does not know your table plan: anything beyond the allocation comes to you as an enquiry. If you work with OpenTable or Quandoo, the booking arrives complete by text message and sits in the team inbox; entering it is your job.
With allergies scoco does not answer. It passes on.
About ingredients, allergens and intolerances scoco.ai says nothing — not “that is gluten-free”, not “there’s probably no lactose in it”. The answer is always: “That is best sorted directly with our service team. I’ll note it on your booking so they know.” There is no configuration option here.
- No information about ingredients, allergens or intolerances.
- No price information and no commitment on menus, set prices or group terms.
- No booking commitment beyond the allocation you have set. scoco does not know your table plan.
- No commitment about rooms, the terrace, a side room or special requests.
- No information about an existing booking to third parties.
- No taking of orders with a price or delivery commitment.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
My guests want to speak to the landlord.
Whoever rings at 12:30 speaks to nobody today. scoco answers while you are in service — and anyone who wants to speak to you personally gets a callback with all the details. The difference from voicemail: the guest knows the booking has arrived.
Does scoco know whether a table is still free?
It does not know your table plan. It books into the time windows and allocations you have set in the calendar — for example “6 pm: up to 12 people”. Anything beyond that comes to you as an enquiry. That is more honest than a commitment you then have to take back.
What about allergies?
scoco says nothing about them. It notes the point on the booking and asks the guest to sort it out with the service team on arrival. With an allergy, a wrong answer on the phone is not a service error but a risk — so there is no exception here.
Half the calls are questions about opening hours.
Those are exactly the ones scoco takes off you. Opening hours, last kitchen orders, parking, dogs, step-free access, how to get there — everything you store once, it answers word for word as you wrote it. It invents nothing on top.
We get a lot of foreign guests.
scoco starts in German and switches mid-call into seven more languages. Your summary always stays in German, whatever language the booking was made in. No extra charge, included in every plan.
And if somebody doesn’t turn up?
A cancellation scoco takes is reported immediately — then the table is free again while it can still be given away. scoco cannot take a deposit today; that is on our roadmap, but we are not selling it to you before it exists.
What does it cost?
From €49 per month for 500 included minutes, plus VAT. Four weeks free, no payment details. Cancellable monthly, no setup fee.
