Your number is in the company details. That is why everybody reaches you.
Your front office. Without a front office.
Known contacts ring through as always. For everybody else scoco asks what it is about, puts the important ones through with a spoken note, and summarises the rest word for word. You decide what a call is worth — after you know what it is about.
You are reachable. That is the problem.
Your direct line is in the company details, on the website and on every invoice. Anyone who wants to sell finds it first. Four sales calls a day do not cost you twelve minutes — they cost you four returns to whatever you were working on. So you put the phone on silent, and then you miss the one that mattered. An answerphone solves nothing: the person who wants to sell leaves a message. The person with a job for you does not.
Four calls, four different outcomes
The same number, the same mechanism — and four results you decided on in advance.
The sales call
“I’d love to introduce our new product briefly.” scoco takes the name, the company and the request, stays polite, and does not put the call through.
Result for you: a line in the inbox instead of an interruption. If you do want to speak to somebody, you have the number.
The new client
“I have an enquiry about a project in the autumn.” scoco recognises from what the caller says that it matches your rule for putting calls through, and puts it through — with a spoken note of who it is and what it is about.
Result for you: you take the call, because you already know it is worth it.
The existing client
He is in your contacts. His call rings through, as it always has. scoco does not answer at all.
Result for you: for your clients, nothing changes.
The call during a meeting
You are with a client and cannot pick up — not even for a known contact. Then scoco takes over there too: the request, the urgency, the callback number, and you decide after the meeting.
Result for you: two hours of concentration, and afterwards a list instead of a hunch.
Two calls, 27 minutes apart
One interrupted you, the other did not. First the one that did not — 16:20, in the inbox instead of on your phone:
scoco - Not put through - Muster Consulting Caller: Mr Ralf D., company: office furniture sales Callback: 0221 5556677 Request: Wants a meeting to present new office chairs. Asks for the managing director personally. Rule: sales, do not put through Received: 16:20 scoco - PUT THROUGH - Muster Consulting Caller: Dr Sabine K., company: Nordwerk GmbH Request: enquiry about a project from October, was recommended by Mr Weber Rule: concrete enquiry, put through You hear the spoken note before you answer.
The second call came at 16:47 and rang on your phone with a spoken note. The first is in the inbox, complete, waiting until you have time.
How scoco decides who gets through to you.
The difference from a phone on silent: you miss nothing. You just hear about it later, and sorted.
1. Your contacts ring through
scoco matches the number against your Google or Microsoft contacts. Whoever is in there — clients, partners, family, your accountant — rings through to you as always. scoco does not answer at all.
2. Unknown callers get asked
Anyone not in your contacts reaches scoco. It answers with your company name, says that an AI is speaking, and asks for the name, the company and what it is about.
3. You decide in advance what gets put through
A new client with a concrete enquiry: put through, with a spoken note of what it is about. A sales call: taken down politely and summarised. You set the rules, scoco sticks to them.
4. Everything else arrives in one batch
Whatever was not put through sits in the inbox as a summary — with the name, the company, the request and the number. You read it when you have time, and ring back whoever you want to ring back.
Not everybody needs the same front office.
If you work alone
You are at a client’s, on site, in a meeting or deep in a concept. Picking up is not an option, and every missed call could be the next job. scoco answers, asks what it is about and for a callback number, reads the number back digit by digit, and books appointments straight into your calendar if you want. You miss nothing without having to be permanently reachable.
If you lead a team
Your direct line is in the company details, so every day you are reached by people who want to sell something. Silent mode is no solution, because the important calls come too. scoco filters: known callers ring through, unknown ones get asked, sales calls land as a note in the inbox. You are only interrupted by what is allowed to interrupt you.
A front office needs no trade software
This is the one page where the status matrix is an advantage rather than a limitation: live and verified are Google and Microsoft contacts (which is how known callers ring through), Google and Outlook calendars, the scoco team inbox, and handover by text message and email. That is the complete setup.
You need your contacts and your calendar — and both are connected, with Google as with Microsoft. The summaries arrive by text message and email and sit complete in the team inbox.
What scoco.ai expressly does not do for you
scoco judges nobody. It applies the rules you have set to what the caller says.
- No assessment of whether a caller is genuine or important.
- No information about you, your business or ongoing matters, beyond what you have put in the knowledge base.
- No information about prices, terms or contracts.
- No appointment commitment except through a released calendar.
- No identity check. Anyone claiming to be somebody is recorded as such — “per caller”.
- No guarantee that a particular call will or will not be put through. The rule decides, and rules have edge cases.

A classic answering service with people bills per call — including the sales call you would never have wanted to take. The more you get filtered, the more you pay. scoco.ai costs from €49 per month, with 500 included minutes. An intercepted sales call takes about a minute, and it costs you the same as one that gets put through: almost nothing.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
And if the one important call is the one that gets filtered?
It is not filtered, it is delivered later. Everything that was not put through sits complete in the inbox: name, company, request, number, time. You miss nothing, you just do not hear about it immediately. And anyone in your contacts rings through anyway. To stay honest: a rule has edge cases. That is why we recommend putting everything through for the first two weeks and just reading along — after that you know which rules you actually want.
I don’t want my clients ending up with an AI.
They do not. scoco matches the number against your contacts; whoever is in there rings through to you without scoco answering at all. For your existing clients nothing changes.
How does scoco know what is important?
It does not know, you define it. You set which requests get put through and which do not — for example: concrete project enquiries put through, product presentations taken down. scoco asks what the call is about and applies your rule. Nobody is judged.
I work alone and actually want to take MORE calls, not fewer.
Then set it up the other way round. Same mechanism, different rules: scoco answers when you cannot, asks what it is about and for a callback number, reads the number back digit by digit, and books appointments straight into your calendar if you want. You miss nothing without having to be permanently reachable.
How is this different from an answering service with people?
Three things: it is there around the clock, not during office hours. It does not cost per call but a flat rate — so an intercepted sales call costs you practically nothing. And it knows your contacts, because it uses your calendar and your address book. What a person does better: handling an angry caller. We would rather tell you that straight away.
Does the caller notice they are being filtered?
They notice that an AI assistant is asking what the call is about — scoco says so openly in the greeting, as the EU AI Act requires. That there is a rule, they do not notice. A sales call is taken down politely, not turned away.
How long does setup take?
About ten minutes for the call forwarding, plus syncing contacts with Google or Microsoft. After that you set your rules for putting calls through — that is a quarter of an hour, and you will change them a few more times in the first weeks anyway.
