# Connect to ChatGPT

> In ChatGPT on the web you create scoco as a plugin with a custom MCP server at https://mcp.scoco.ai/mcp, sign in to scoco and call it in a chat with @.

ChatGPT reads your calls, contacts and appointments through a plugin with a custom MCP server. When you are done, you call scoco in a chat. What ChatGPT may do is on [Connect scoco to AI tools](https://scoco.ai/en/docs/connect-ai/#what).

OpenAI has changed this path often. The labels below follow OpenAI's help pages and ChatGPT's own screens as of 29 October 2026.

## Which plans can do it

- **Business:** owners and admins of the ChatGPT workspace create the plugin.
- **Enterprise and Edu:** owners and admins, and members an admin grants the permission ("Create plugins with MCPs").
- **Pro:** only tools that read. ChatGPT reads from scoco there, but proposes no changes.
- **Plus and Free:** OpenAI does not list custom MCP servers for them at present.

Creating and connecting work in ChatGPT on the web only.

## Create the plugin

1. In ChatGPT on the web, open "Plugins" in the sidebar.
2. Click the plus, then "Add custom MCP server".
3. Enter a name under "Name", for example scoco. Under "Connection", keep "Server URL" selected and enter the address `https://mcp.scoco.ai/mcp`.
4. Choose OAuth for sign-in. Leave the advanced OAuth settings unchanged: only with the usual sign-in does scoco list ChatGPT as a **Known app**.
5. Tick "I understand and want to continue" and click "Create as a plugin".
6. ChatGPT shows a dialog to connect scoco. Continue to scoco. The scoco sign-in opens, then the page **Connect an AI tool**. Choose what ChatGPT may do and click **Allow access**.

In a Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace a new plugin starts private. For the team to use it, an admin publishes it in the workspace's admin console. Each member then installs it under "Settings" at "Plugins" and signs in with their own scoco access.

ChatGPT keeps the list of tools as a fixed snapshot when the plugin is first published. At scoco that list depends on the role of the person who creates the plugin: if an owner creates it, members also see tools their role does not allow, and scoco answers that the tool does not exist. When scoco adds tools, a workspace admin updates the list with "Refresh". In Enterprise and Edu, newly added tools then start switched off.

## Use it in a chat

Type `@` in a chat and choose scoco. Then ask, for example: "Which callbacks are still open in scoco?" Everyone signs in with their own scoco access. What ChatGPT reads depends on their role in scoco.

Before ChatGPT uses a tool that changes something, it asks you by default. At scoco such a tool only proposes the change: it is applied only when you confirm it in scoco through the link.

## Disconnect

- **In scoco:** **Settings › AI access**, **Disconnect** next to ChatGPT. ChatGPT loses access at once.
- **In ChatGPT:** under "Settings" at "Plugins", choose the plugin, then "Disconnect" in the "•••" menu. Your existing chats stay.

Access has surely ended when you disconnect in scoco: OpenAI does not say whether ChatGPT tells scoco when you disconnect there.

## Common problems

**"Add custom MCP server" is missing.** Your plan or workspace does not allow it. In Business, Enterprise and Edu, ask a workspace admin.

**ChatGPT keeps asking you to sign in.** Disconnect the plugin in ChatGPT and connect again. If the connection is then not listed under **Settings › AI access**, the sign-in did not get through.

**A scoco tool that used to work answers with an error.** The tool list in ChatGPT may be out of date. A workspace admin updates it with "Refresh".
